2016 ANNUAL REPORT

Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University

Cover of the 2016 GW Public Health Progress Report
From 2013-2016, I produced four annual reports for GW’s School of Public Health, which took on a more magazine-like tone and look than a traditional annual report. All have won multiple design awards. I managed the entire process from concept to execution, art directing photo shoots, collaborating with the designer and writing the vast majority of the content.

For the 2016 report, we used custom illustrations and graphics to highlight the high-profile and positive impact of the school in a year with public health crises that made headlines: Zika outbreak, Flint Water crisis, superbugs and more. The design also allowed us to take a lighter, more playful approach when appropriate. The printed product used a concealed wire-o-bound design, which added a unique element. 2017 FORWARD THINKING MAGAZINES

Case Western Reserve University

Forward Thinking Magazine Cover
I served as the primary editor of Case Western Reserve’s Forward Thinking magazine–the publication for the university’s capital campaign by the same name.

The spring 2017 issue highlighted recent development successes through the lens of the people who made them possible, bringing a human element to major gift communications.

I collaborated with the in-house graphic designer, photographers, faculty, staff and university administration to tell the stories featured on the magazine’s pages.

ACADEMIC GUIDE

Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University

2016 GW Public Health Academic Guide CoverChallenge: Create a print piece for use by the admissions team when attending recruitment events and fairs that communicates about the school’s academic programs in a compelling way. Traditional academic guides resembled a tome of course listings in black and white font with minimal photographs or engaging content.

Solution: A vibrant overview of the school’s departments and programs with profiles of student stories, faculty research and campus life. The small size made it easy for the admissions team to bring on the road, and simple for prospective students to throw in their bags or carry. The content could easily be updated each year with fresh stories and program information. (Design by Moire Marketing Partners.)
